A little information about myself

Sue Henson Director of Sunflowers

I have a strong background and great passion for childcare which started in 1983 when I embarked on my NNEB course.   I enjoyed every minute of my training and successfully gained my NNEB qualification in 1985.

I have worked in in many early years setting from very small independent nurseries to large corporate American nurseries and during that time I have gained a wealth of experience in every aspect relating to the provision of learning experiences for young children to dealing with all the administrative side of running a nursery business.

I drifted out of childcare for a while and joined the hustle and bustle of IT industry spending my time as a consultant for Oracle where I was responsible for business reengineering, training staff and implementing computer administrations systems in Universities around the world.

It was always my ambition and dream to open a Nursery and with the support of my husband Matt in October 2010 my dream became a reality when we opened Sunflowers.

Our son George picked the name Sunflowers as when we first drove through Welford on Avon to look at the nursery we were talking about changing the name and George piped up 'Why not call it Sunflowers as we have just driven past a big field of them"

Childcare is my passion and I want every parent to feel secure in their choice to leave there child with us knowing that we will treat them with the upmost care and respect - after all they  are the most precious thing in the world and I feel very honoured when a parent brings there child to us.

I decided that I wanted to give parents more flexibility in the choice of childcare options available and to be understanding and flexible if they needed to changes sessions at short notice or have short ad-hoc sessions for appointments. I also offer to help out with pick up and drop off where I can should parents find themselves in difficult circumstances

My door is always open for anyone to come and speak to me and you can call into see us at Sunflowers anytime - you don't have to make an appointment.
